OUR STORY
since 2004
In the shadow of Tahquitz Peak is the heart of modern Queer Nudism - Palm Springs, California. But Queers have been getting naked together since the dawn of time. Our story begins shortly thereafter... We started as a group of friends "trying to find like-minded guys in the area."
We were in Salt Lake City, Utah just after the winter Olympics. The city was beautiful and ranked the gayest city in America. We were young, newly liberated gays ready to get naked for the cause, and then we just never put our clothes back on. Nudity was just honest and real. So we started weekly get togethers, then went camping, then the hot springs, then to Zion's & Arches National Parks, all naked.
There was something liberating and platonically intimate about being naked with friends, in San Diego on Blacks Beach or at New Jersey's Gunnison Beach. There was something magic that happened. Camping together, living together in the nude connected us no matter where we were. We began hosting all our friends in tiny apartments in NYC, once we hit over 100 we knew it was time for a bigger venue. Go Naked was born to facilitate our group of friends. Now I guess you could say we're sharing the NAQED truth.
Queer Nudism has always been a part of Queer Culture - and yes there is a Queer Culture. We'll right a blog post or three or four on that later. The core difference between nudism at-large and Queer nudism - is the unique euphoria Queers of similar life experience share when we shed the binary and divisive labels of modern clothing. We're more tactile - with consent. We're more vulnerable - to connect. We're more honest - nudity is authentic.
We share this message in cities around the world through community development, events, adventure, and international travel. JOIN US!
